The Hellenic Centre is a vibrant cultural organisation founded in 1994 as a charity, with the aims of providing a focus for the Hellenic community, promoting an awareness of Hellenic culture in the UK and nurturing the unique relationship between Britain and the Hellenic world. The Centre offers a rich programme of lectures, exhibitions, concerts, social events and Greek language courses.

Client Brief

The Hellenic Centre wanted to improve their existing AV equipment and also introduce new installations for their Great Hall. The Great Hall is large white space, with high ceilings and natural daylight. Incorporating a spacious balcony, it showcases corporate and social events such as weddings, exhibitions, conferences, concerts, workshops, press events, dinners and other social occasions.

The audio facilities for this room required an update to fulfil its potential. There was also a requirement to upgrade and install a data video projector.

Our Solution

Through TFG, the Hellenic Centre was able to successfully upgrade their AV equipment, serving their multi-functional venue whilst keeping within their budget. The equipment upgrades included a Mackie Mixer, JBL line array speakers, JBL sub bass, Yamaha amplifier, a mixing desk and all the fixtures and fittings. Another requirement in the brief was to install a video projector. TFG installed a 6000 ANSI Lumen NEC projector with long throw lens and a Da-Lite Cosmopolitan 5m 16:10 tab tensioned projector screen.

With these upgrades and additions to the AV equipment, TFG also devised and installed integration equipment to ensure all the equipment interacts correctly and can be easily used by the client. The integration equipment installed included a AMX DVX 3155 HD-T, AMX TP software, an Apple iPad, Yamaha blu-ray player, Extron 7.1 surround sound processor and wall plates for VGA & HDMI.

Since installing the video projector and upgrading the AV at the Hellenic Centre, they are now able to offer their clients additional ways to use the Great Hall.

The upgraded AV system is more efficient and dynamic, making a positive contribution to the objectives of the Hellenic Centre and their clients.
