Bernie Villa, Associate Principal
During Bernie’s career, he has been responsible for placing over $5 billion of Corporate Owned Life Insurance (COLI) and Bank Owned Life Insurance (BOLI) and has more recently developed a number of innovative strategies to help local governments with their OPEB obligation.
With an extensive background in designing programs for both public and privately owned companies, Bernie oversees the marketing and administration of all Business Owned Life Insurance Services and is responsible for analyzing corporate tax and benefit liabilities for all benefit programs.
Bernie brings more than 20 years of business-owned life insurance expertise to many of the nation’s largest financial institutions including financial analysis, management of plan design, and client service support. He has generated ideas and leading edge products that create value for clients. He continues to interact greatly in the development of solutions for our clients' insurance needs, and establishing relationships with insurance carriers.
He continues to be a sought-after keynote presenter at conferences which include members of the Congressional Budget Office, Office of Management & Budget and International Monetary Fund. Also, he has spoken to other political forums including the Council of Economic Affairs, Senior Advisor to the President and Deputy Secretary of State.
Bernie has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Southern California. Bernie also holds a Life Insurance license and is licensed with NFP Securities, Inc.
